1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Cheki Namba ("the Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions and our Privacy Policy. These terms apply to all users including visitors, reporters, and API consumers.

2. User Accountability

You are solely responsible for the accuracy and truthfulness of any report you submit. By submitting a report, you confirm that:

• The information is true and accurate to the best of your knowledge
• You have direct knowledge of or evidence for the reported incident
• You are not submitting a report with malicious intent to harm an innocent person
• You understand that submitting false reports may constitute defamation under Tanzanian law

Cheki Namba reserves the right to remove any report suspected to be false, malicious, or submitted in bad faith, at its sole discretion.

3. IP Address Logging & Data Usage

To maintain platform integrity and prevent abuse, we log a hashed (anonymized) version of your IP address when you submit a report or perform a search. This means:

• We cannot identify you personally from this data
• The hash changes daily — making long-term tracking impossible
• IP data is used strictly for: preventing spam reports, detecting bot attacks, enforcing rate limits (max 3 reports per hour per IP), and preventing double-reporting of the same number
• We do not share raw IP data with any third party
• Hashed IP logs are automatically purged after 30 days

This processing is based on our legitimate interest in maintaining a fair and trustworthy platform, and is compliant with Tanzania's Personal Data Protection Act, 2022.

4. No-Liability Clause

Cheki Namba is an advisory tool only. It provides crowd-sourced information to help users make informed decisions. It does not constitute legal advice, financial advice, or an official fraud determination.

Cheki Namba, its founder, operators, and affiliates shall not be held liable for:

• Any financial loss arising from decisions made based on platform data
• Inaccurate, incomplete, or outdated reports submitted by users
• Any harm caused to a person whose number appears on the platform
• Platform downtime, data loss, or technical failures

Always verify information independently and report serious fraud to the Tanzania Police or TCRA.

5. Prohibited Conduct

Users must not:

• Submit false, malicious, or defamatory reports
• Use automated bots or scripts to submit reports or queries
• Attempt to remove legitimate reports through fraudulent removal requests
• Use the platform to harass, intimidate, or harm specific individuals
• Attempt to circumvent rate limiting or security measures

6. Intellectual Property

The Cheki Namba name, logo, and platform design are the intellectual property of the founder. User-submitted report content remains the responsibility of the submitting user.

7. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Republic of Tanzania. Any disputes shall be resolved in Tanzanian courts.

8. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
